Course Evidence publishes independent research and guides about technical learning. This policy explains how information is used to provide the website, respond to messages, and measure readership when you choose to allow analytics.
Who is responsible
The independent operator of Course Evidence is responsible for the personal information described in this policy. Course Evidence Editorial Team is the website’s editorial byline. The planned contact address is contact@courseevidence.com. Mailbox setup is pending; this address is not currently available for receiving or monitoring requests. We will update this notice when it is active. You can manage optional measurement immediately using the website’s privacy controls.
Information you send us
Once the contact mailbox is active, messages sent to it may include your email address, message and attachments. We will use information you choose to send to answer your question, handle a correction or respond to a privacy request. Please do not send passwords, payment details, private course materials or sensitive personal information.
Website operation and security
The website runs on WordPress and Hostinger hosting. Hosting and security services can process technical information such as your IP address, browser information, requested page, request time and security events to deliver pages, diagnose faults, prevent misuse and maintain backups. Necessary technical storage may also support website functions and remember your privacy choice.
Optional Google Analytics
If you accept analytics in our privacy controls, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are read and how the website is used. Analytics can process browser and device information, page views, approximate location and cookie identifiers. This is measurement data, not a record of course completion, certification, employment or purchases.
Analytics is optional. Google Analytics scripts and measurement requests are blocked until you accept. Rejecting analytics does not prevent you from reading articles or using our learning tools. You can reopen the privacy controls to change your choice or withdraw consent for future measurement.
We do not send names, email addresses, account identifiers, form answers or calculator inputs to Google Analytics. We remove query strings and fragments from page and referrer URLs before measurement. Optional enhanced-measurement features, advertising personalization, Google Signals and user-provided data collection are disabled.
Optional email features
Hostinger Reach supports optional email-signup features. Its external script is blocked until you allow the Marketing category for email features. Loading it allows Hostinger to receive technical request information, including your IP address and browser information. Allowing the category does not subscribe you to a mailing list. Submit an email address only when a signup form and its notice are available; subscription requires that separate action.
Cookies and saved choices
Complianz stores your privacy choices in necessary cmplz_* cookies so the site can remember and apply them, with a configured expiry of 180 days. Optional Analytics uses _ga and _ga_DRJ8GNN1DE cookie identifiers, configured to expire after 60 days without renewal on each visit. Browser settings or deletion can end storage earlier. Withdrawing Analytics consent disables future measurement and removes these Analytics cookies on this site.
Search visibility and external links
We use Google Search Console reports to understand how our pages appear in Google Search. These reports are separate from visitor analytics on this website. Links to learning platforms and other websites take you to services with their own privacy practices. Review their policies before signing in or providing information.
Service providers and international processing
Providers that support hosting and optional audience measurement may process information on our behalf. Google provides the Analytics service. Provider processing can take place in countries other than your own. Their applicable service and data-processing terms govern this processing; this policy does not promise that all data remains in a single country. Email-service details will be added when the contact mailbox is activated.
For information about these providers, see Hostinger’s Privacy Policy, Google’s Privacy Policy and Google’s information about partner sites.
Retention
Google Analytics user-level and event-level retention is set to two months, with retention reset on new activity disabled. This setting does not automatically delete standard aggregated reports or cover hosting logs, email or backups. Analytics-cookie lifetimes and saved privacy choices are controlled separately.
Once the mailbox is active, messages will be kept for the time needed to handle the inquiry, correction or privacy request and any necessary follow-up, dispute or recordkeeping obligation. Hosting and security records and backups follow the applicable operational retention and backup cycles. Deletion from an active system does not necessarily remove a copy immediately from a provider’s backups.
Your choices and privacy requests
Use the website’s privacy controls to accept or reject optional analytics and to change your choice later. The contact mailbox for access, correction, deletion and other privacy requests is still being set up, as explained above. Once that route is active, we may need proportionate information to verify that a request concerns your data. Do not send identity documents unless we explain why they are necessary and how to provide them securely.
Your available rights and complaint routes depend on the laws that apply to your circumstances. We respond to requests under those requirements. Withdrawing analytics consent stops future measurement; it does not automatically erase data already lawfully processed.
Children
Course Evidence is intended for people making their own technical-learning decisions and does not seek personal information from children. Do not submit children’s personal information to this website.
Changes to this policy
We update this policy when our processing changes. Material changes to optional measurement are reflected in the policy and privacy controls before the new collection begins.
