Cloud Training Subscription Pricing: Plans, Lab Limits, Renewal, and Total Cost

Compare cloud training subscriptions by provider scope, lab limits, renewal, and total cost; verify what each plan includes before paying. Official public sources reviewed; no hands-on testing was performed.

Quick answer

Evidence profile: E1 source-led research, so this is a documentation-based pricing analysis rather than a tested product review. The cost-effective model is the least-committed subscription that includes the exact provider scope, practice environment, and study period you will actually use. A $29 monthly price does not make Pluralsight Cloud+, AWS Skill Builder Individual, and Google Skills Pro interchangeable: one is a broader cloud-content route with migrated A Cloud Guru material, one is AWS-specific, and one is a Google-wide catalog subscription.

For a one- to six-month study block, all three modeled monthly plans produce the same before-tax subscription subtotal: $29 for one month, $87 for three months, and $174 for six months. At 12 months, Pluralsight Cloud+ is $299 when billed yearly versus $348 through twelve monthly payments. AWS lists $449 for its annual plan, but that plan adds Digital Classroom content, so it is not a discounted substitute for twelve monthly payments. Google’s current Pro page displays $29 per month and does not display a Pro annual price. Pluralsight’s individual plan page, AWS Training’s subscription FAQ, and Google Skills’ subscription page provide the current displayed amounts and bundle boundaries.

This pricing analysis compares three current individual subscription models that publish a United States price and document cloud-learning or lab access. It is a representative decision set, not a complete market census. The standalone A Cloud Guru platform is not treated as a fourth subscription because Pluralsight states that all customers were migrated and the former platform is no longer accessible. Pluralsight’s A Cloud Guru integration notice establishes that boundary. See How we test for the evidence labels and testing boundaries used here.

Key facts before comparing totals

  • Pluralsight Cloud+ displays $29 monthly or $299 billed yearly and includes access to A Cloud Guru courses plus cloud sandbox features on a paid eligible plan.
  • Pluralsight’s 10-day individual trial automatically converts on day 11 unless canceled, while full Hands-on Playground and sandbox access require a paid subscription.
  • AWS Skill Builder Individual displays $29 monthly or $449 annually. The annual plan includes everything in monthly plus AWS Digital Classroom, so the annual and monthly bundles are not identical.
  • AWS documents a three-calendar-day initial cancellation-and-refund window. After that, cancellation stops the next renewal and paid access continues through the current billing period.
  • Google Skills Pro displays $29 per month, while Starter provides 35 no-cost credits each month. Google advertises a seven-day trial for new subscribers.
  • Google subscriptions auto-renew, cancellation takes effect after the current term, and subscriptions are non-refundable.
  • Taxes, exchange-rate effects, promotions, certification exam fees, external cloud-account usage, and learner time are not included in the modeled subtotals.

The plan facts above come from the providers’ current public pages and policies. Pluralsight’s individual-trial policy, AWS Skill Builder’s current overview, and Google Skills’ subscription-management guide clarify what a displayed price does and does not buy.

Who should use this comparison

Use this article when you already know the cloud-learning job you need to fund and are choosing a subscription structure for a bounded study period. The decision should begin with one of three scopes: a multi-cloud or broader cloud-content plan, AWS-native training, or Google-native training. If you have not yet selected a cloud direction, pricing is premature because a low subtotal for the wrong provider ecosystem is not a saving.

The modeled shortlist requires an official individual plan, a public US-dollar amount, cloud-learning or lab access, and public renewal or cancellation terms. Pluralsight Cloud+, AWS Skill Builder Individual, and Google Skills Pro meet that public-source threshold and represent three different subscription jobs. KodeKloud was reviewed as a category candidate, but its current public pricing page did not expose numeric plan amounts in the page text available for this check; legacy or cached amounts were therefore excluded rather than silently reused. KodeKloud’s current pricing page remains an explicit unmodeled candidate.

This page does not replace the cloud and DevOps starting-path guide, a first-cloud selection guide, a Pluralsight platform analysis, an A Cloud Guru status analysis, a direct cloud-lab comparison, the commercial-risk guide, or a general technical-subscription comparison. It owns the narrower question of publicly documented subscription cost, billing commitment, lab limits, renewal, and cancellation for this dated shortlist.

Representative individual cloud-training subscription models for a United States buyer – public information checked September 11, 2026
Model Displayed price Documented practice access Decision condition
Pluralsight Cloud+ $29 monthly; $299 billed yearly Hands-on labs plus eligible playground and cloud-sandbox access; the full playground and sandbox set is not available in the free trial Use when the broader cloud catalog, migrated A Cloud Guru courses, and paid sandbox access match the next learning block.
AWS Skill Builder Individual $29 monthly; $449 annually Self-paced labs, open-ended challenges, game-based learning, exam preparation, and no-fee training sandboxes; annual also adds Digital Classroom Use when the learning target is AWS-specific and compare annual only when the additional Digital Classroom bundle is material.
Google Skills Pro $29 monthly; no Pro annual amount displayed on the current subscription page Unlimited access to the Google Skills catalog, including hands-on labs, courses, and curated learning paths Use when Google-centered content and labs are the defined job; keep the monthly renewal visible.

Takeaway: the monthly subtotal is equal in this dated snapshot, so provider scope, included practice, term structure, and exit policy-not the $29 headline alone-must decide the first purchase. Pluralsight plan details, AWS’s individual-subscription FAQ, and Google Skills’ plan definitions support the table’s documented boundaries.

Pricing, lab limits, renewal, and total cost

1. Define the comparison unit before doing arithmetic

Use one learner, one individual plan, one market, one billing basis, and one active study horizon. Do not compare a monthly price from one provider with an annual price from another without naming the different commitment. Do not treat a broader annual bundle as if it were merely a cheaper version of the monthly plan. Taxes and final checkout amounts remain unknown until a regional purchase flow is authorized and observed.

The model in this article uses the provider-displayed base price only. It excludes sales tax, temporary promotion, foreign-exchange conversion, bank fees, exam registration, books, hardware, broadband, and any cloud usage outside an included training environment. The output is a planning subtotal, not a quote or a complete learner-specific total cost.

2. Model the expected active months

On a small screen, swipe or scroll the table horizontally to compare all columns.

Before-tax subscription subtotals in USD using public prices checked September 11, 2026
Billing model 1 month 3 months 6 months 12 months
Pluralsight Cloud+ monthly $29 $87 $174 $348
Pluralsight Cloud+ yearly Not modeled as a short-term purchase Not modeled as a short-term purchase Not modeled as a short-term purchase $299 upfront
AWS Skill Builder monthly $29 $87 $174 $348
AWS Skill Builder annual Not modeled as a short-term purchase Not modeled as a short-term purchase Not modeled as a short-term purchase $449 upfront
Google Skills Pro monthly $29 $87 $174 $348

Takeaway: for a short project, monthly billing preserves the option to stop. A full-year payment becomes a separate decision about both expected use and bundle value.

3. Interpret annual plans instead of forcing a false comparison

Twelve Pluralsight Cloud+ monthly payments total $348, while the displayed yearly price is $299, a $49 difference before tax. The yearly price becomes numerically lower than continued monthly billing when the learner would otherwise make an eleventh $29 payment: ten monthly payments total $290, while eleven total $319. This arithmetic does not prove that a learner will use the plan for eleven months or that annual access is refundable.

AWS annual pricing requires a different interpretation. Twelve monthly payments total $348, while the annual plan is $449, but AWS documents that annual includes Digital Classroom content that monthly does not. The $101 difference is therefore a bundle expansion, not evidence that the annual option is overpriced or that monthly provides the same learning inventory. AWS Skill Builder’s plan overview distinguishes the monthly and annual packages.

Google Skills’ current public subscription page displays Pro at $29 per month and does not show a Pro annual amount. Do not import the separate Career Certificates annual price or a Developer Premium amount into the Pro calculation; those are different products and entitlements. The current Google Skills plan page separates those subscription families.

4. Treat trials, renewal, and refunds as cost controls

Pluralsight documents a 10-day individual trial that converts to a paid subscription on day 11 unless canceled. The trial does not include the full Hands-on Playground, full labs, or sandbox features, so it cannot answer every paid-practice question. Individual subscriptions auto-renew; Pluralsight says it does not offer refunds and does not send email reminders before renewal. Canceling stops the next renewal while paid access continues through the current term; canceling a trial should be checked separately because trial access can end differently. Pluralsight’s renewal policy and cancellation guide establish the recurring-charge boundary.

AWS Skill Builder Individual auto-renews at the selected monthly or annual cadence. AWS documents a three-calendar-day window from the initial purchase for an immediate cancellation request and full subscription-fee refund. After that window, cancellation stops the next billing cycle and paid content remains available through the current period. Preserve the initial purchase date because the refund condition is time-limited. AWS Training’s FAQ provides the current rule.

Google advertises seven-day trials for new subscribers. Its help center states that subscriptions renew automatically using the stored card, cancellation takes effect after the current subscription expires, and subscriptions are non-refundable. A learner should record the renewal date and cancellation confirmation rather than treating non-use as cancellation. Google Skills’ cancellation policy states the access and refund effects.

5. Price the practice environment, not just the catalog

Pluralsight’s paid Hands-on Playground can include cloud sandboxes for AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud, cloud servers, and an instant terminal. Individual sandbox sessions are documented as four hours; only one sandbox can be active at a time; sandbox data is deleted when the environment ends; and service or action restrictions apply. These are material usage limits even when the subscription headline says sandbox access is included. The Hands-on Playground overview and cloud-sandbox guide document the session and persistence boundaries.

AWS describes its subscription practice as including self-paced labs and no-fee sandbox environments. It separately states that live classroom training and certification exams are not included, while annual Digital Classroom is self-paced content rather than live classroom access. Those exclusions prevent a subscription subtotal from being presented as a complete certification or instructor-led training budget. AWS’s subscription FAQ supports the distinction.

Google Skills Pro documents unlimited access to its catalog and hands-on labs. “Unlimited” describes subscription catalog access, not an observed guarantee of unrestricted session duration, regional availability, device compatibility, or every Google Cloud service. This article did not test lab quotas, reset behavior, latency, persistence, or whether a specific path can be completed within one billing period. Google Skills’ plan guide is the approved boundary.

Finally, keep external cloud consumption separate. If a course directs you to a personal AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud account outside the provider’s included training environment, any resulting cloud charge is outside this model. Use budget alerts, cleanup steps, and the provider’s own free-tier or billing controls before creating resources. No external account was created for this research.

Lower-commitment alternatives

A paid subscription is not automatically the first cost-effective action. Use the provider’s no-cost route to define the gap before starting a recurring plan:

  • AWS Skill Builder’s current free digital-training page lists more than 500 on-demand courses in 17 languages, so an AWS learner can identify the exact paid lab or exam-prep need before subscribing.
  • Google Skills Starter supplies 35 no-cost credits each month for limited hands-on labs, which can expose the catalog and credit model before Pro.
  • Pluralsight’s 10-day trial can inspect courses, paths, assessments, and a selection of practice content, but it is not evidence for full paid sandbox access.
  • A learner with a one-off documentation or local-container task may not need a cloud-training subscription at all.
  • A candidate whose current public price cannot be verified should remain outside the arithmetic until the exact checkout or official numeric page is approved for review.

These routes do not prove long-term fit, but they can prevent an annual commitment before the buyer has a named path, lab, or capability to use. AWS’s free-learning overview and Google Skills’ Starter description provide the documented no-cost baselines.

Unknowns and limitations

  • No regional checkout, tax, payment method, invoice, currency conversion, promotion, renewal charge, cancellation confirmation, or refund request was directly observed.
  • The modeled shortlist is representative, not exhaustive. KodeKloud, Coursera, vendor academies, team plans, bootcamps, marketplaces, and one-time courses are not priced here.
  • KodeKloud’s current page documented plan structures and terms but did not expose reliable numeric plan amounts in the public page text available for this check, so no current KodeKloud total is approved.
  • No lab, sandbox, playground, course, path, exam-prep product, Digital Classroom, support channel, accessibility flow, mobile workflow, or device requirement was directly evaluated.
  • “Included,” “unlimited,” and “no-fee sandbox” are provider descriptions. They do not establish practical reliability, unrestricted services, learner fit, or an absence of account and acceptable-use limits.
  • The table excludes certification exam fees, external cloud-account charges, hardware, connectivity, books, instructor-led training, and the opportunity cost of unused subscription time.
  • No provider quality verdict, ranking, score, completion-time promise, certification outcome, hiring outcome, salary claim, return-on-investment claim, or affiliate recommendation is made.
  • Prices, catalogs, plan names, trial rules, and policies can change. Recheck all required sources after , or sooner when a material plan page changes.

Build a one-page subscription decision

  1. Name the provider scope. Choose multi-cloud, AWS, or Google only after the learning objective is defined.
  2. Name the exact paid feature. Record the path, lab, sandbox, exam-prep resource, or Digital Classroom item that free access does not provide.
  3. Estimate active months. Use the shortest realistic study block, then calculate the before-tax subtotal.
  4. Compare the same bundle. Do not call an annual plan cheaper or more expensive until its included content matches the monthly denominator.
  5. Record the practice limits. Capture session duration, persistence, concurrent environments, restricted services, device needs, and trial exclusions.
  6. Record the exit rule. Write the trial end, renewal date, refund window, cancellation effect, and access-end date.
  7. Separate outside costs. Put exams, external cloud usage, tax, hardware, and instructor-led training in separate budget lines.
  8. Set a checkpoint. Before the next renewal, continue only when the subscription has a defined role in the next study block.

The decision is ready when the plan, exact learning asset, expected active months, modeled subtotal, lab boundary, and cancellation checkpoint all fit on one page. If the only reason to subscribe is “more content,” the buying question is not yet specific enough. For renewal, refund, and promotion safeguards, see the commercial-risk guide.

Methodology

This source-led pricing analysis used 13 official public pages checked on . The set covers current Pluralsight individual pricing, trials, renewal, cancellation, Hands-on Playground and sandbox limits, A Cloud Guru retirement, AWS Skill Builder pricing and bundle differences, Google Skills pricing and subscription policies, and KodeKloud’s current pricing-page availability.

Eighteen approved claims were mapped to the article. A plan entered the modeled table only when an official public page supplied an individual US-dollar amount and the provider documented the cloud-learning or lab job plus material renewal or cancellation terms. The arithmetic is deterministic: monthly subtotal equals the displayed monthly price multiplied by expected active months; annual subtotal equals the displayed annual charge. No tax, promotion, proration, refund probability, external cloud consumption, or learner-time value was inferred.

The analysis does not score or rank providers. It first reconciles provider scope, then included practice, then billing horizon, then renewal and exit terms. Plan claims remain vendor-documented facts; statements about what a buyer should record are editorial decision rules. No paid account, checkout, course, lab, sandbox, cancellation, support interaction, affiliate relationship, participant study, or original experiment was used.
